I will make sure you are happy with the results. Issues like this would most likely be down to balance and how each of us interpret the track. Which is why references are useful. I will discuss the tracks in sections to ensure that it’s your vision that I’m pursuing. I’m mixing for you after all, not for me. Don’t be afraid to change things if they’re not how you envisaged them. Also be aware of a phenomena known as demo-itis. This is where you’ve been playing the rough demo for so long, that it becomes ingrained. Any changes to it thereafter, seem wrong to you. Even though the changes will make the track sound more professional against the competition, they still somehow make things different from what you’re used to. I’m not in the business to have unhappy clients, so I will make sure that doesn’t happen. We’re working together on this, to accomplish your vision. 100% we’ll figure it out together.

Just let me know, nothing’s impossible. Depending on where I am with the mix and how big the change is, will depend on if there’s an addition cost or not, and how much that will be. But just let me know as soon as possible.

The website is there to make ordering the basic stuff easy. There may be other things you require or want to do, that are not on the website. Just contact me if you have a situation like this. If it’s not something I will be able to do for you, or one of my affiliates, I’m sure I can point you in the right direction.

If you’ve had the recordings done at a tracking studio, ask them to provide you with the multi-tracks for the mix engineer. They should be experienced with this.

Just count them. It’s as simple as that. You only need to count the files that need mixing. You may decide to group somethings like backing vocals together and send them as one stereo file. This is OK, but obviously I can only mix them as a group from that point on wards (panning, level and processing are already baked in at this point), so make sure you get it right at your end.

You don’t need to count duplicate files. There’s more on this in the section (how to prepare my files for mixing). Example, you may have a reverb on a sound that you think works, so you send that file for mixing. But you may also choose to send that file without the reverb, just in case it doesn’t work and I have to tweak it. That would be a duplicate, that you don’t have to count twice.

One 48kz 24bit Wav File and One 320kpbs MP3 with ID3 tags (if you’ve provided the information for them). If you’ve had external mastering done, the file types might be different.

You can if it hasn’t been started. Check with me and if I haven’t started the mix, then I can cancel it for you. I’m based in the UK, so that will give you an idea of what times my work day will be. I generally start the basics of the mix within 24 hours of receiving it, in order to make sure there are no problems that need addressing.

Yes they are. It’s easy for different people to have different opinions of how a mix should be balanced. Reference tracks will at least give me an idea of your musical tastes. It’s also useful to say what you like about a specific reference track, the kick, the bass, the vocal etc. A rough mix of your track is also very useful. This will give me an even better idea of how you think the track should be balanced.

The longer the track, the more time is needed on the mix. It takes longer to write automation, bring in new elements, check each section and check the track overall. If you have a track the exceeds the limit, let me know before you book it and I’ll tell you how much extra it will cost. You can either pay directly or I’ll give you a coupon code to apply that adds the extra, so you can pay on the site.

Your project will be stored for one year. After that time, there are no guarantees. However, I still have projects stored that are over 5 years old. I generally will keep them unless there’s a specific reason I need to delete them.

A concert isn’t charged by the song, but will likely need cutting in to songs. Once I have the main elements mixed for one song (drums, bass, vocal etc), they are to one degree or another going to be the same for all songs, so will this will be more cost effective. Other instruments may need a song by song treatment and all the songs will have individual automation. Contact me and let me know the duration, how many songs, the type of concert and how many files.
